I am looking for information on the Townsend family in Bucklebury -- John Townsend, born 9 April 1656, son of Richard Townsend, born 1614 and any additional ancestors. Any information would be greatly appreciated. :) Kind regards,
Elaine Townsend Corson (lainarie@mstarmetro.net)

Visited Bucklebury the other day looking for any Parr's (James/Elizabeth) 1700s. Lovely place, ever so peaceful. Didn't noticed any graves tho (one at Sulhamstead Abotts). Someone said David Tipton would be the person to ask about local genealogy? Any contacts details for him please? David Parr (onlydavid703 at hotmail dotcom)

I have your family as part of my Sellwood family tree. The Fishers married into the Dines, the Butlers, the Wiltshire's, the Robbin's and the Morton families to name but a few. I would love to share information with you. I will repeat this message in the guestbook so that you can get back to me direct.

Hi am tracing my family and the were in Bucklebury in the 1800's. My gggg grandmother was a Hannah Sellwood born 1805 died 1868. Her daughter Jane Fisher was my great great great grandmother. Her oldest son Edward Rowland born 1864 was my great great grandfather. The Rowland family appear to have left for yorkshire between 1874 when Frank was born in Bucklebury and 1876 when Walter was born in Hoyland nr Barnsley. The men worked in the coal mines in Chapeltown area near Ecclesfield north sheffield. Does anyone know much about the Fishers, Sellwoods and Rowlands in the Bucklebury area. Thomas Rowland janes husband was from Lambourne. Can you access parich records easily.

Hi, I have just found out that my gg grandmother came from Bucklebury her name was Charlotte Allum born c1821 she married Henry Wright in Demerara British Guiana in 1842. We have found out that the sugar plantations in Demerara were owned by a family of brothers from Bucklebury. We beleive her parents were Edward and Anne Allum. Does anybody have any history of this family. We also know that Martha Wright, daughter of Henry and Charlotte Wright was born in Bucklebury in 1846.

I have a fairly big database of the Osgood families in Bucklebury and Cold Ash. They are twigs on my Sellwood tree.
If you put a message on the Guestbook page, Michael, I can email you and maybe help.

Can you please let us know what the connection is between Bucklebury and the Osgood family.

Many thanks in advance! Michael Osgood

Thanks for your enquiry and comments - as you may know Osgoods Green is a small secluded area on Bucklebury Common with one or two houses there. I will check to see when the last Osgood lived there - afraid it might take a little time !! AMC webmanager Dec 30 06

Please could someone tell me if Vivian James Keevil, who died in 1964, is buried in Bucklebury and if his wife Mary (nee Masters) is there as well? If Mary is there could someone tell me when she died?
Many thanks,
Lesley Keevil
