Now at: Bucklebury House Private Theatre, Bucklebury Village, Saturday 6th October
7.00 for 7.30pm

"TALES OF VIENNA"

Opera Galleria are returning to Bucklebury again for one night of informal Opera and Song following the success of their previous visits, including 'The Legend of Tantuna', 'An Italian Evening' and 'Hollywood Greats'. Alex Anderson-Hall (tenor), James McOran-Campbell (baritone) and co will entertain us with a programme of 19th and 20th century operas and waltzes including The Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus, Waltzes from Vienna, the Land of Smiles, Paganini and songs of Zeller, Richard Tauber, Korngold and of course Richard Strauss himself.

Although much of the music will be reminiscent of the romantic Viennese Waltz era only those who wish to need dress accordingly! - in fact the ambience will be informal with the accent more on wine and song...More programme details will be available shortly.

Tickets, to include light refreshments, are £17.50 each and if there is any surplus after their costs, Opera Galleria have agreed to donate this to help towards restoring the Bucklebury Black Barn Water Mill (see Old Mill Restoration). Enquiries and reservations to John Clark (0118 971 2768) or Alastair McOran-Campbell (0118 971 3325).

Please check here again closer to time for possible changes.....

THE BUCKLEBURY MUSIC CONCERT 2006

7.30pm Saturday 4th February

"HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS"

This year Opera Galleria's team of Opera Singers will be giving us something a bit different - a mixture of opera and song but presented, in character and costume, as a tribute to some of Hollywood's 'greats', in particular Mario Lanza, Kathryn Grayson and Gordon Macrae, charting their successes throughout their careers. There will be songs from The Student Prince, Carousel, Showboat, Desert Song, Oklahoma and The Great Caruso and arias from La Traviata, La Boheme and Madame Butterfly, and including old favourites such as I'll Walk with God, Only make Believe, Ave Maria, Oh What a beautiful Morning, You'll never walk alone, Serenade and many others.....

This will be stage in The Victory Room in Bucklebury Village (not such an appropriate theme for St Mary's) and the ambience will be tables, wine and candlelight and small eats will be available. Those who feel inclined might dress appropriately for the era and the occasion - there might even be a red carpet and a barrage of photographers!

Tickets are at present at 15 quid each but there are only 70 seats available. They are already going fast so please telephone for a reservation ASAP to Alastair McOran-Campbell (0118) 971 3325.......
